Hello! I joined CEC as a Criminal Justice teacher in January 2023. This year I helped to start the Pre-law program. I grew up in Iowa and graduated from Wartburg College with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science. I moved to Colorado in 2001 and attended law school at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where I earned a J.D. Before I passed the bar exam, I worked as a Real Estate Agent, a Legal Recruiter and a Paralegal. Then I started my own law firm and practiced Bankruptcy Law as an attorney for four years before I went back to school to become a teacher. I taught Social Studies for two years before I found my new home here at CEC. This year I am excited to teach Introduction to Law, Civil Litigation, Constitutional Law and Criminal Law. In addition to teaching, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family (husband Kevin and two boys, Quinn and Tyler), and being outside hiking, skiing, swimming, fishing, reading, shopping and exploring new places.
