The CEC EMT pathway is a two-semester pathway dedicated to a career in emergency medicine for juniors and seniors. Students who complete the pathway can then sit for their National Registry EMT exam (NREMT), which allows them to obtain their EMT Certification. (Students must be 18 to obtain their state EMT certification and take the exam). Both semesters are dedicated to learning and perfecting the care of patients in both trauma and medical scenarios. Learning how to care for the sick and injured is a growing field in Denver. EMT was listed as one of the top ten fastest growing and highest demand professions. This is the perfect class for those wanting to go into EMS as an EMT, Paramedic or even fire fighting. This course in only offered to 11th and 12th grade students.
Requirements: Must be an 11th or 12th grade student and have taken Intro to Medical Careers or other related medical courses.

Capstone Completion: If the National test is taken after graduation, students must pass practice exams for written and skills tests prior to completion of EMT 2, for capstone requirements.
