Born and raised in Boulder, Maureen has called Colorado home for most of her life. She moved to New York to attend Cornell University and spent a spring studying in Seville, Spain. After earning her undergraduate degree in Mathematics, she returned to Colorado and started teaching for Denver Public Schools. She spent six years as a bilingual math teacher until the birth of her son, Alex. During her time away from teaching, she earned a Master’s degree in Mathematics from University of Colorado at Denver. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, baseball (especially the Rockies!), competitive dog grooming, and taking advantage of the 300 days of sun we get in Colorado. Returning to teach at the high school level, she is thrilled to be a part of the CEC community. She loves math and hopes to spread that passion to another generation.
