Luis Martinez (he/him/el) is a first year teacher, teaching ninth grade social studies. He is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Ethnic Studies, as well as minoring in French and Business with an emphasis in Business Analytics. He is originally from Aurora, Colorado, and he has experience empowering youth through his experiences at the Aquetza: Youth, Leadership, Education and Community Empowerment Program and for the office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement, both of those programs taking place at CU Boulder. He also has extensive research experience through working for the Chicano & Latino History Project at CU Boulder, and through participating in the Capitol Fellowship for the Colorado Latino Leadership Advocacy & Research Organization (CLLARO), where he interned for State Representative Javier Mabrey out of House District 1 in Southwest Denver. Luis also advocated for multicultural communities during his tenure as the Multicultural Liaison in the CU Student Government. In his free time, Luis enjoys spending time with his loved ones and playing basketball and volleyball.
