Gina grew up outside of Chicago, Illinois and then moved to Nebraska. She has a BA in International Studies with a focus on Latin American Cultures. She also has an MA in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. She started her teaching career in 2007 teaching recent refugees in a basic English survival course. She taught adults ESL for several years here in the states and then abroad in Costa Rica. She returned to the US in 2016 and got her teaching license and is endorsed in Spanish as a foreign language, English Language Arts, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. She started teaching at CEC in 2018 and currently teaches 9th grade English Language Arts. When not working, Gina enjoys snowboarding, hiking, traveling and hanging out with her 6-year-old daughter.
