Emily is a proud Denver native, DPS graduate and North Denver resident. She graduated from George Washington University (B.A. in International Development and African Studies) and continued her education at CU Denver (M.A. in Education, Curriculum and Instruction) and the University of Denver (M.S. in Organizational Leadership). Emily taught Special Education, Social Studies and English before transitioning into school leadership. She is motivated by the students she works with to provide a more equity-focused learning experience than she had as a DPS student. Emily is a life long learner and loves to travel. She has visited over 30 countries and has lived on 3 continents. In her free time she chases after her twins, eats too much ice cream, and binges reality TV.
