Anna Nelson is a Special Education teacher at CEC. She grew up in a small town in northern Illinois and has spent most of her adult life exploring the rest of the country and the world. She has been working in education for over 20 years but got her start in Special Education when serving for two years in the Peace Corps in Dominica. She has taken high school students on international trips to 4 different continents and when she can’t take students out of the classroom, she is passionate about experiential and project-based learning in the classroom. When she’s not teaching, she can be found exploring with her husband and two kids, reading a great book, gardening, playing music, improving her Spanish or traveling.
