Construction Technology

Students in this course will engage in NCCER curriculum, in alignment with the recommendations and accepted credentials of the Construction Education Foundation and Associated General Contractors. Students will engage in hands-on experience in the construction field. This includes construction safety, introduction to hand and power tools, construction math, material handling, construction drawing and other skills. These skills will be applied in real world settings and opportunities including; framing, electrical work, drywall, and other pertinent skills to the construction industry.

Specific Success Criteria

  • Students will be willing to self manage goals, objectives and workflow to complete projects and assignments in a timely manner.
  • Students will engage in hands-on work that allows for them to build on basic construction skills aligned to the industry. 
  • Students will use basic math skills to complete construction related tasks and activities. 
  • Students will have a desire to create, build, be creative and work as a team.

High School Credits: 15 Elective Credits (per semester)

Related Careers: SConstruction Management, Foreman, Lineman, Construction Apprentice, Framer, Drywaller, Roofer and other construction related careers.
