Information about CMAS and other testing

Dear CEC Families, 

A recent communication from DPS went out regarding opting your child out for testing this year, opting out means choosing not to participate. The district realizes that this has been a difficult year for students and families and that testing might be an added stress and so, providing you with the opportunity to decide if your child will take those tests this year. If you choose not to have your child participate in CMAS or other testing this year, you must take action by this Friday, 02/26 and opt-out through your Parent Portal account, if not, they will take the tests as scheduled in the spring. This form is located in the Parent Portal under the “See All Apps” tab. Simply click on the link for Complete Assessment Opt-Out Form. See here for directions in all consent decree languages. Estimadas familias de CEC, 

Recientemente DPS envió una comunicación sobre los exámenes estatales para este año escolar para su hijo(a) y si desean tomarlo o no. Si desean no tomarlo este año, pueden elegir no participar. El distrito se da cuenta de que este ha sido un año difícil para los estudiantes y sus familias y que las pruebas pueden ser un estrés adicional y, por lo tanto, brindarle a ustedes la oportunidad de decidir si quieren que sus estudiantes tomen los exámenes o no. Si elige que su hijo(a) no participe en las pruebas este año, debe tomar medidas antes del viernes 26 de febrero y declarar su decisión de no participar a través de su cuenta del Portal de padres, si no, ellos solo tomarán los exámenes en la primavera cuando están programados. Este formulario se encuentra en el Portal para Padres en la sección “Ver todas las aplicaciones”. Simplemente haga clic en el enlace para completar el formulario de “excepción de participación en la evaluación”. Consulte aquí las instrucciones en todos los idiomas.
