Ninth Grade Academy

To help students start strong, CEC (along with all DPS high schools) hosts a required Ninth Grade Academy (NGA) for all incoming 9th graders.

What is Ninth Grade Academy?

NGA is designed to set students up for success before the school year even begins. During this experience, students will:

• Build skills for high school success (GPA, transcripts, graduation requirements)
• Meet CEC staff and connect with classmates
• Earn 2.5 elective credits upon completion
• Participate in fun, engaging, CEC-specific activities and enjoy complimentary snacks
