To help students transition into high school and start the year strong, CEC Early College, along with all DPS high schools, will host a required Ninth Grade Academy (NGA) for all incoming ninth-grade students.

Dates: Tuesday, August 11 – Friday, August 14, 2026

During Ninth Grade Academy, students will:
Learn strategies for high school success, including graduation requirements, GPA, and how to read academic transcripts.
Meet CEC staff and connect with other incoming students.
Earn 2.5 elective credits upon successful completion of NGA.
Enjoy complimentary morning snacks.
Participate in fun, engaging activities designed just for CEC students.
Research shows that students who participate in Ninth Grade Academy perform better academically, feel more connected to their school and classmates, and are more likely to graduate from high school.
