I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. I graduated from the University of Colorado at Denver with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Secondary Social Studies Urban Education Certification. I have been teaching for three years. My first two years in education were spent in the South Bronx, New York, at a school serving 100% English Language Learners from over a dozen different countries. In any one day, I would come in contact with almost nine different languages. Currently, I teach 11th Grade Ethnic Studies and Psychology at the Community College of Denver Auraria Campus for CEC Early College and one section of 9th Grade Geography at CEC Early College campus. When I am not at CEC Early College or CCD, I am typically exploring with my family, fly fishing in the mountains, reading a great book, or binge-watching the latest TV show.
